The Uruguay Innova program held a seminar titled ‘Priorities for Innovation in the Agricultural and Agro-industrial Sector’ at the Torre Ejecutiva. Co-organized with ECLAC and the Juan Pablo Terra Institute, the event focused on coordinating science, technology, and innovation to boost productivity and quality within the agricultural sector.

Bruno Gili, executive director of Uruguay Innova, emphasized the importance of aligning institutional efforts with private investment and producers. Key partners involved in this strategic coordination include the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA), the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU), and the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP).

The seminar featured three thematic panels: innovation in agriculture and the transformation of the productive matrix, the role of private investment in innovation, and public policies designed to promote agricultural innovation.
