Uruguay police conduct 32 raids and arrests in Operation Golfo
Uruguayan authorities conducted ‘Operation Golfo’, a large-scale police action involving 32 raids and 32 arrests across several locations, including Colonia del Sacramento, Juan Lacaze, Nueva Helvecia, and parts of Montevideo and Canelones. The operation targeted a criminal structure involved in narcotics trafficking, money laundering, and the trafficking of minors.
More than 100 police officers participated in the raids, seizing nine weapons, approximately one kilogram of cocaine, one kilogram of marijuana, vehicles, mobile phones, and cash. Additionally, the Penitentiary Investigation and Analysis Unit conducted searches at three National Institute of Rehabilitation facilities, resulting in the transfer of six incarcerated individuals.
