Uruguayan ex‑tennis pro Nicolas Xiviller arrested in Florida after store outburst

Former Uruguayan tennis player Nicolas Xiviller, who reached a career‑high ATP ranking of 1023 in 2018 and now competes in padel and works as a tennis coach, was detained after a violent incident at a retail store in Doral, Florida. Security footage showed him entering the shop, breaking two rackets and threatening staff, causing an estimated US$568 in damage. Police located him near a gasoline station a few hours later and arrested him on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage and disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred over the weekend and was reported by local media citing NBC. Xiviller’s arrest follows his brief tennis career and his current involvement in padel.
