Urumajó clinches Pará Serie A2 championship on penalties
On Saturday, 27 May, Urumajó and Izabelense met in a single‑match final of the 2026 Campeonato Paraense Série A2 at Estádio Estrelão in Augusto Corrêa. The game finished 1‑1 after regular time, with Popó scoring for Urumajó in the 32nd minute and Flávio Ticó equalising for Izabelense late in the second half. The title was decided by a penalty shoot‑out, which Urumajó won 4‑3.
The victory secured Urumajó’s first Série A2 trophy and promotion to the top‑flight Parazão for the 2027 season. Founded only six years ago, the club celebrated a historic campaign that also saw it eliminate Paragominas in the semifinals. Izabelense, returning to the elite after a 33‑year absence, also earned promotion despite the defeat.
Both clubs will now prepare for the 2027 Parazão, representing the new strength of Pará’s football hierarchy.
