Urupês resident attacked neighbor with boiling oil and water

A 52-year-old man suffered second-degree burns over approximately 25% of his body after being attacked with a mixture of boiling water and oil in the district of São João de Itaguaçu, Urupês.

The incident, which occurred last Thursday, followed a verbal dispute between the victim and his 72-year-old neighbor. Security footage captured the woman approaching the man from behind while he was sitting on the sidewalk and pouring the hot liquid over him, primarily hitting his neck and back.

The woman stated to police that she acted after being insulted by the man during their earlier argument. Following the assault, the victim was transferred to a specialized burn treatment unit in Catanduva, where he remains conscious and hospitalized.

The Civil Police have opened an investigation into the bodily injury. Authorities have requested judicial precautionary measures to prevent any further contact or proximity between the two individuals.
