Ururi: Mother and son found dead in Molise home

Authorities in Ururi, Molise, have launched an investigation after a mother and her son were discovered dead in their home on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The discovery was made after neighbors, concerned by a lack of activity and a parked car that had not moved for several days, alerted emergency services.

The woman, aged approximately 91-92, was found on a lower floor, while her son, aged 58-60, was located on an upper floor. While investigators are considering various scenarios, including homicide-suicide, the primary working hypothesis is that the mother died of natural causes and the son subsequently took his own life.

Forensic teams and the Carabinieri have conducted technical inspections of the residence. The bodies have been transferred to the San Timoteo hospital morgue in Termoli, where autopsies have been ordered by the Prosecutor's Office of Larino to determine the exact causes and timing of the deaths.
