Uruçuí and São Gonçalo launch multi‑million‑real infrastructure projects

The municipality of Uruçuí will deliver a package of works in the São Francisco neighbourhood valued at more than R$ 6 million. The investments cover a new FNDE‑standard daycare, a society‑type sports field, a beach‑tennis and sand‑football court, and an outdoor gym, using municipal funds together with state and federal support.

In São Gonçalo, the city’s Urban Development Secretariat has begun extensive drainage works in the Neves neighbourhood. The project includes macro‑ and micro‑drainage, paving, road signage and urban landscaping, aiming to curb chronic flooding that has affected about 12 000 residents. The 30‑month programme is a partnership between the state government and the municipality. Residents such as André Luiz de Moura have expressed relief, saying, "Todo mundo aqui já teve prejuízos causados pelas chuvas. Eu perdi móveis e eletrodomésticos…"
