Urwald-Life-Camp celebrates 20th anniversary in Thuringia

The Urwald-Life-Camp youth hostel, located on the Harsberg above Lauterbach, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Operated by the Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk, the facility serves as a popular holiday and educational center associated with the Hainich National Park.

As the only bio-certified youth hostel in Thuringia, the establishment maintains stable occupancy rates despite a general declining trend in the region. It features a ‘Healthy-Planet-Buffet’ and holds the Thuringian Quality Seal for Education for Sustainable Development (BNE). The facility is frequently used for meetings by families, choirs, and orchestras.

Other local events in the Wartburgkreis include a fire brigade festival in Neuenhof on August 29 and a chamber music performance by the Mitteldeutsche Barock-Compagney at the Eisenach Georgenkirche on August 30.
