Urzainqui forest fire shows favorable evolution despite remaining active

Wildfire suppression efforts continue in Urzainqui, Roncal, where the fire remains active but is showing favorable evolution. According to the Government of Navarra, there is currently no risk to local populations or infrastructure. Overnight progress was aided by lower temperatures and increased humidity, preventing significant advances in the fire perimeter.

Extinction teams are utilizing several helicopters from both the Government of Navarra and MITECO, alongside ground crews and heavy machinery to widen access paths and reinforce firebreaks. While conditions have stabilized, meteorologists warn of rising maximum temperatures and decreasing humidity in northern Navarra, though scattered showers and storms may provide some relief in the Pyrenees area.
