US activist calls for domestic unrest following French protests
Minneapolis-based rapper Tufawon, born Rafael Gonzalez Jr., has called for radicalization and civil unrest in the United States after participating in violent protests in France. Gonzalez, who is part Native American, joined activists including Greta Thunberg during demonstrations near Paul Éluard high school, which were characterized by looting and arson.
Upon returning to the US, Gonzalez used social media to urge white Americans to “raise hell” to achieve revolution, arguing that domestic comfort is hindering progress.
Concurrently, US-based groups with communist ties are organizing demonstrations in Washington, DC. The nonprofit Code Pink has scheduled a “taxpayer uprising” for November 10–12, with leader Jodie Evans citing the French model of street action. Additionally, the Party for Socialism and Liberation has expressed solidarity with the French protesters in their struggle against capitalist austerity.
