US agricultural reports show rapid soybean harvest and Oklahoma drought

Agricultural reports indicate varying conditions across the central United States. In Oklahoma, pasture conditions have declined significantly due to persistent drought.

In Arkansas, the soybean harvest has begun, with 4 percent of crops harvested. Experts expect a rapid harvest season driven by heat, lack of moisture, and early planting dates. Soybean acreage in Arkansas has increased by 33 percent over last year to 3.45 million acres, the highest level since 2017, with projected yields reaching a record 57 bushels per acre.

Corn harvesting is also progressing quickly, with 42 percent completed, outpacing both last year and the five-year average. Meanwhile, rice harvesting is at 16 percent. Although rice acreage has dropped 30 percent compared to last year—reaching its lowest level since 1977—agronomists expect a significant increase in harvest progress over the coming weeks due to favorable forecasts.
