U.S. Air Force celebrates 79th anniversary

The U.S. Air Force is celebrating its 79th anniversary on September 18. The milestone commemorates the 1947 passage of the National Security Act, which established the Air Force as an independent military branch.

To mark the occasion, the Air Combat Command (ACC) highlights the importance of operational safety through its official magazine, Combat Edge. The publication focuses on risk management, flight and ground safety, and leadership development, utilizing firsthand accounts to improve mission readiness across fighter, bomber, and reconnaissance operations.
