US Ambassador Asel K. Roberts presents credentials to Slovenian PM Janez Janša

Prime Minister Janez Janša received Asel K. Roberts as the new United States ambassador to Slovenia, formally accepting her letters of credence. Both officials highlighted the long‑standing alliance and pledged to deepen cooperation on political, economic and security matters.

The ceremony coincided with celebrations of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Janša met Viktor Knauss, the father of former First Lady Melanie Trump, and the ambassador presented him with an official U.S. soccer jersey. Roberts described Slovenia as a trusted friend and key partner in Euro‑Atlantic defence, while Janša thanked the United States for its support of freedom and regional stability.
