US Ambassador Johnson lauds US indictment of Texas arms network supplying Sinaloa Cartel

U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson praised a federal indictment that accuses four individuals of operating a firearms‑trafficking ring based in Texas. The indictment alleges that Loyd Walter Hall, a 27‑year‑old Amarillo resident, and co‑accused Jesús Quesada Meza, Omar Velásquez and Catlynn Ann Townsend conspired between 2024 and 2026 to provide guns, technical advice and evasion strategies to the Sinaloa Cartel, which the United States classifies as a foreign terrorist organization.

Johnson said the charges demonstrate the commitment of the Trump administration and U.S. law‑enforcement agencies to disrupt the flow of illegal weapons that fuels violence on both sides of the border. He highlighted the cooperation between U.S. and Mexican authorities as essential to curbing the cartel’s firepower and protecting communities in both countries.
