US Ambassador meets Karnataka CM to discuss tech and trade

U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor met with Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru to discuss strengthening bilateral ties through initiatives such as Paks Silica and TRUST. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in space technology, artificial intelligence, and trade. During the visit, Ambassador Gor also met with Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, highlighting the growing U.S.-India space partnership.

Separately, political tensions have risen in Karnataka regarding farmer loan waivers. The BJP has criticized Chief Minister Shivakumar, accusing him of shifting responsibility for debt relief to the central government. Opposition leader R. Ashoka challenged the state government to fulfill its election manifesto promises, including the establishment of the 'Krishi Sarvodya Nidhi' and the release of compensation from the natural disaster fund.
