US Ambassador Michelle Steel meets Korean officials to boost alliance

Michelle Steel, the newly appointed US ambassador to South Korea, arrived in Seoul in early April and presented her credentials to the Korean foreign ministry. The following day she met with the US commander in Korea, General Jay B. Brunsen, who said “all efforts are centered on people” and expressed hopes for close diplomatic and defence cooperation.

Steel also held a meeting with the head of Korea’s National Security Office, emphasizing that she will work closely with the office to further develop the US‑Korea alliance. She highlighted the importance of a strong partnership for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and pledged continued collaboration between the two nations.
