US and 40 allies demand advance notice for missile tests

The declaration follows a recent incident in which China launched an intercontinental ballistic missile in the Pacific, providing notice to only a few nations. Observers noted the missile appeared to land in an ocean area between the Solomon Islands, Nauru, and Tuvalu.

The coalition is calling for all countries to provide at least 24 hours of notice before any launch. This requested information includes the missile class, the planned launch window, the intended area, and the direction of flight. Additionally, the statement urged nations to provide clear notices for aviators and mariners in accordance with international standards to mitigate risks in expected impact zones.
