The high stakes of this competition were highlighted during a state visit by Xi Jinping to Washington, where leaders from major technology corporations—including executives from OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Amazon—were present. While leaders expressed a desire for cooperation and friendship, the underlying struggle for control over AI development and its global limits remains a critical point of contention between the two superpowers.
