US and Indian startup funding show divergent trends in October 2026
The US startup ecosystem saw significant investment activity in October 2026, characterized by large-scale funding rounds in infrastructure and deep tech. Axiom Solutions International received a $2 billion strategic investment from General Catalyst and Koch Equity Development, valuing the company at $37.5 billion. Other major US deals included $870 million for TypeSafe AI and $475 million for quantum computing startup Oratomic.
In contrast, Indian startup funding experienced a sharp decline. Total investments in India fell 60.8% year-on-year to $677.8 million in October. This downturn was driven by a lack of large-scale deals, with no single startup raising more than $100 million during the month. Bengaluru remained the primary hub for Indian investment, accounting for nearly 62% of the total capital raised.
