US and Iran leaders engage in verbal dispute amid regional tensions

Tensions between United States and Iranian leadership have escalated through verbal exchanges and diplomatic meetings. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and US President Donald Trump engaged in a heated dispute on social media. Trump claimed Iran is heading toward total destruction, citing remarks attributed to Ghalibaf regarding food shortages. Ghalibaf responded by mocking Trump’s campaign slogan, stating that millions of Americans face food insecurity, and accused the US of attempting to misrepresent his comments regarding economic warfare.

In a separate diplomatic development, Lebanese Member of Parliament Sayyed Hassan Fadlallah met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Fadlallah praised Iran’s resistance and diplomacy in the face of US and Israeli military actions. He expressed gratitude for Iran’s support of the Lebanese people and resistance forces, while calling for unified action from Islamic nations against Israeli policies in Lebanon, Gaza, and the West Bank. Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
