US and Israel prepare for potential third round of conflict with Iran

Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, suggests that the United States and Israel are preparing for a third round of military conflict against Iran. Parsi argues that current military escalations and economic warfare serve as preparation for a larger campaign expected to follow the November midterms.

According to Parsi, potential future actions could include strikes on critical infrastructure, such as desalination plants. He notes that while Washington previously attempted to limit Israeli involvement in prior escalations, a shift in policy under the Trump administration could lead to a more expansive military engagement.

In response to these developments, Iran has been targeting American bases in Jordan. Parsi posits that Tehran is attempting to clear a path to ensure its missiles can reach targets more effectively should a larger-scale conflict occur.
