Italy and United States launch Trusted Tech Accelerator to bolster transatlantic ties
Italian and American officials, business leaders, and institutions met in Washington to strengthen transatlantic cooperation, focusing on technological and economic security. During the event, which coincided with the 51st anniversary of the National Italian American Foundation, the U.S.-Italy Trusted Tech Accelerator was officially launched.
U.S. Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg highlighted Italy as a strategic partner in the 'Pax Silica' initiative, a project designed to reorganize global technological supply chains among reliable nations to mitigate risks from competitors like China. The initiative aims to secure the infrastructure supporting the artificial intelligence economy, including semiconductors and advanced computing.
Italian Deputy Speaker Giorgio Mulè emphasized the need to relaunch transatlantic relations through concrete investment channels and regular parliamentary exchanges. Discussions also touched upon critical minerals, nuclear energy, and the importance of attracting American capital to Italian innovation.
