US and Mexican authorities warn of email phishing scams

The Nebraska Department of Insurance, together with regulators in Delaware and Oklahoma, issued a warning about fraudulent emails that mimic the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). The messages claim outstanding invoices and threaten license suspension to trick insurance producers into clicking malicious links and revealing credentials.

The Cyber Police of Aguascalientes, Mexico, alerted the public to a different phishing scheme in which emails pretended to come from attorneys offering multi‑million‑dollar inheritances. The scammers use tragic accident stories to gain trust and request personal or banking information. Both alerts advise recipients not to respond, not to provide personal data, and to report suspicious emails as phishing.
