U.S. and United Arab Emirates launch joint military AI task force

The United States and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to create a bilateral military artificial‑intelligence task force, named Task Force Talon Synapse. The initiative was announced by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and will be based in Abu Dhabi, bringing together roughly 20 specialists from both nations in AI, cybersecurity and data technology.

The task force will focus on accelerating the development and integration of AI applications for military intelligence support, protection of critical infrastructure, and monitoring of the regional security environment. CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper described the partnership as a historic milestone, while Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s ambition to be a regional AI leader.
