Cybersecurity researchers at Huntress have identified a malicious campaign where attackers use fake AI assistants, dubbed Plus 5, to impersonate ChatGPT models. These fraudulent services trick users into executing system commands under the guise of resolving service availability issues. Once a command is executed, a remote access trojan (RAT) is installed, granting attackers control over the victim's computer, including the ability to capture webcam images, audio, and files.

In the United States, the Trump administration is responding to growing concerns regarding artificial intelligence by establishing the Super Intelligence Force. This new task force, led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, is tasked with examining the risks and opportunities of AI development. The group is required to submit a report within 120 days to ensure the U.S. maintains leadership in superintelligence while protecting national interests. Additionally, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that the U.S. will restrict China's access to domestic AI technologies.
