US animal hoarding rescues free over 200 pets in Texas and Florida

In Ellis County, Texas, rescuers pulled more than 125 dogs from an inhumane hoarding property after a months‑long effort. Ferris Animal Services and Flying B Animal Rescue & Sanctuary led the operation, with American Humane and RedRover providing veterinary support. The animals were placed with partners such as Saving Hope Animal Rescue and Hearts & Bones Rescue, and the case highlighted the need for a regional Animal Welfare Campus in North Texas.

In Martin County, Florida, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast has rescued 108 dogs and cats from a separate hoarding case, with new animals still arriving daily. Staff are processing the pets through spay‑and‑neuter surgeries, microchipping and medical clearance before adoption. The ongoing intake is straining local shelter resources, prompting calls for community help and fostering support.
