US announces economic sanctions targeting all Iranian income sources

The United States has announced intentions to block all sources of income for the Iranian government through a new initiative titled ‘Operation Economic Warfare’. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that measures taken by the Treasury and other agencies will ‘tighten the ring and close all possible sources of income’ used to fund the Islamic Republic.
