U.S. Army acquisition focuses on capacity and supply chain speed
Army Acquisition Executive Brent G. Ingraham has emphasized the need for increased speed and capacity within the acquisition workforce. He noted that structural changes and new authorities alone are insufficient; instead, the workforce must adopt better decision-making processes that involve early expertise and informed risk management to reduce long-term operational risks.
Ingraham highlighted that technological advancement must be paired with the capacity to build, repair, and sustain equipment. To strengthen the supply chain, the Red River Army Depot in Texas is integrating organic infrastructure with commercial advanced-manufacturing expertise to improve production speeds and resilience.
