US Army activates 4th Multi-Domain Task Force for Indo-Pacific

The US Army has officially activated its 4th Multi-Domain Task Force (MDTF) during a ceremony at Fort Carson, Colorado. Comprising approximately 2,100 soldiers organized into four battalions, the unit is designed to enhance strategic capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region.

The task force integrates diverse combat domains, including long-range precision missiles, cyber warfare, signal intelligence, air defense, and space-based assets. This multi-layered approach aims to disrupt enemy command and control and provide a battlefield advantage through coordinated land, air, cyber, and informational operations.

Led by Colonel Hugh W. A. Jones, the unit is part of a broader Pentagon initiative to establish five such task forces by 2028. The formation is intended to bolster deterrence and combat readiness in the Pacific theater by providing troops with advanced technological and tactical advantages.
