U.S. Army and DLA focus on supply chain resilience and readiness
U.S. Army leaders and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) are prioritizing supply chain risk management (SCRM) to enhance soldier readiness and mitigate industrial base vulnerabilities. During the Association of the U.S. Army’s 2026 Annual Meeting, officials discussed the necessity of anticipating and mitigating risks before they impact soldiers in the field.
Army Materiel Command emphasizes that SCRM involves identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks to ensure critical parts are available when needed. To manage finite resources, the Army aims to prioritize essential missions and parts rather than attempting to address all gaps simultaneously. The command utilizes the Weapon System 360 digital platform to integrate equipment status and supply chain data.
Separately, the DLA hosted its 11th annual Joint Acquisition Briefing to Industry, focusing on modernization and strategic partnerships within the clothing and textiles sector. The event brought together over 1,000 representatives to discuss individual equipment, demand planning, and cybersecurity, with a strategic emphasis on building resilient supply chains and maintaining mission readiness.
