US Army Black Hawk helicopter crashes in Colorado during training

An MH-60M Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the US Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) was involved in an aviation mishap during a routine training mission on August 25, 2026. The aircraft, which originated from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, went down on the eastern flank of Thorodin Mountain in Gilpin County, Colorado, near the Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
