U.S. Army to evaluate Hunter WOLF robotic vehicle with 82nd Airborne

The U.S. Army is conducting a Transition in Contact (TiC) evaluation of the Hunter WOLF unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) with the 82nd Airborne Division. The training event is scheduled for August 20, 2026, at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Developed by BLADE, the Hunter WOLF is a multi-mission robotic vehicle designed to reduce the physical burden on dismounted soldiers. It features a payload capacity of up to 2,800 lbs and is intended to support logistics, equipment transport, and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) missions. The system aims to address the “last tactical mile” of supply challenges by carrying critical equipment and supplies in demanding environments.

During the evaluation, soldiers will test various configurations, including tactical communications and mobile power capabilities. The vehicle is expected to carry tactical radios, universal battery chargers, and a 15-kilowatt power system. The 82nd Airborne Division, a rapid-response unit capable of worldwide deployment within 18 hours, will provide hands-on operational testing to validate the platform's flexibility across different mission sets.
