Khalid Ahmed Satary, 54, a laboratory owner, was extradited to the United States after more than three years as a fugitive. Prosecutors say the operation ran from 2016 to 2019 and involved Clio Laboratories in Georgia, Performance Laboratories in Oklahoma and Lazarus Services in Louisiana. Satary was arrested on July 20 by regional partners in the Middle East while carrying a fraudulent Mexican passport. He appeared in federal court in Virginia and faces charges of conspiracy to commit health‑care fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and anti‑kickback violations, each carrying a maximum sentence of 20 years.
