U.S. authorities charge Mexican illegal immigrant as ringleader of foiled White House UFC terror plot

Federal prosecutors identified Abraham Alvarez, a Mexican illegal immigrant who entered the United States as a child and was granted DACA relief in 2014, as the alleged ringleader of a plot to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. Authorities say the conspirators planned to launch explosive‑laden drones over the crowd and use snipers to target "high‑value" individuals, with a secondary plan to storm the White House after the initial attack.

Five suspects, including 19‑year‑old Tycen C. Proper, have been arrested. If convicted, they face up to life imprisonment and substantial fines. The plot was thwarted after Proper’s mother alerted police to his recent firearm purchases and online activity, providing a crucial tip that led to the arrests.
