Law enforcement agencies in the United States and Mexico have conducted several major narcotics seizures at border crossings and within domestic territories.

At the Del Rio International Bridge in Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized approximately 60.76 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine in two separate incidents. On October 8, a 23-year-old American driver was caught with 23.68 pounds of cocaine hidden in a 2013 GMC Acadia. On October 11, a 54-year-old American driver was found with 37.08 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the spare tire of a 2005 Ford Expedition. The combined street value of these drugs is estimated to exceed $632,000.

In Laredo, Texas, CBP officials intercepted a massive shipment of approximately 1,540 kilograms of methamphetamine. The narcotics were hidden in 76 bags within a trailer declared to be carrying salt. This single seizure is valued at more than $30 million.

In Chiapas, Mexico, federal authorities seized 171.42 kilograms of cocaine. The drugs were discovered inside the fuel tanks of a tractor-trailer during a routine inspection at the Huixtla border crossing.
