US authorities seek two Nigerians for drug and Medicare fraud
The United States government has issued wanted notices for two Nigerian nationals, Tayo Muyiwa Olukoya and Ezechukwu Ohaka, involving separate allegations of drug conspiracy and healthcare fraud.
Tayo Muyiwa Olukoya, 57, is wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for conspiracy to possess and distribute controlled substances. The case is filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Olukoya, also known as “Uncle,” was previously linked to a 2022 marijuana trafficking investigation involving the distribution of substances across several states.
Ezechukwu Ohaka, also 57, is wanted by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General for alleged Medicare fraud. Authorities claim Ohaka used a Houston-based company, Luant & Odera, Inc., to submit over $3.1 million in fraudulent claims for unnecessary or unsupplied medical equipment, such as motorized scooters and wheelchairs. The scheme allegedly generated approximately $1.08 million in illegal proceeds. Investigators also state that Ohaka posed as a medical doctor to target beneficiaries affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
