US beaches with highest theft risk identified in new report

A new report by Action Network has identified the beaches in the United States with the highest risk of theft and property crime. The study analyzed data from more than 500 beaches, evaluating categories such as theft of belongings, assaults, vehicle theft, and nearby property burglaries.

North Jetty Beach, located near Ocean Shores, Washington, was ranked as the highest risk area with an estimated theft probability of 4.81% and a security rating of B-. Folly Beach Public Beach and County Park in South Carolina ranked second, with an estimated theft risk of 4.58% and elevated levels of property crime in the surrounding areas.

Newport Beach, California, including The Wedge, placed third with an estimated theft risk of 4.15% and a B- security rating. Santa Monica, California, also appeared in the top rankings.
