Ponte da Integração implements new vehicle transit schedules
The Paraguayan-Brazilian Joint Commission has announced new operating schedules for the Ponte da Integração, connecting Presidente Franco and Foz do Iguaçu, effective September 14, 2026.
Light vehicles and private automobiles will be permitted to cross between 07:00 and 13:00. This access is exclusively for residents of Ciudad del Este, Presidente Franco, Hernandarias, and Foz do Iguaçu. All occupants must present the Fronteira Neighbor Transit Document (DTVF) in accordance with Mercosur agreements. The bridge is not authorized for the dispatch of general merchandise; transit is limited to subsistence products.
For logistics, the schedule for large empty trucks (in ballast) has been expanded to the night shift, operating from 18:00 to 05:00. Smaller cargo loads will continue to enter and exit in ballast between 07:00 and 19:00, while returning with cargo must use the Ponte da Amistad. International urban passenger lines between Presidente Franco and Foz do Iguaçu may optionally use the new bridge from 07:00 to 19:00 with proper documentation. Regular international bus lines and closed-circuit passenger services will have 24-hour access via the Ponte da Integração.
