US Bitcoin spot ETFs record net inflows, reversing weeks of outflows
U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net inflow of about $132 million on July 17, ending a multi‑week period of outflows. The iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) managed by BlackRock contributed roughly $136 million of the total, driving the majority of the inflow. Ethereum spot ETFs also turned positive, attracting about $36 million in new capital, the first sustained net inflow since mid‑June.
The inflows marked a second consecutive week of net purchases, suggesting a shift in investor sentiment as institutional participants such as asset‑management firms, pension funds and hedge funds reallocate capital to crypto assets. Analysts cited improving macro conditions, lower inflation pressures and a calmer derivatives market as supporting factors. While the flow volumes are modest compared to earlier peak periods, the reversal signals renewed long‑term interest in regulated crypto exposure.
Overall, Bitcoin ETF assets under management now total roughly $77.7 billion, with cumulative net inflows exceeding $513 billion since inception, underscoring growing institutional confidence in the sector.
