Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations held in San Diego and Houston

Various cities in the United States are hosting free community events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

In San Diego, the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park will host ‘History Explorers: Hispanic Heritage Month’ on September 19. The event features interactive activities, including a workshop to create mirrors inspired by traditional Mexican tile designs and educational programming focused on the history and culture of Chicano Park in Barrio Logan.

In Houston, a celebration will take place at The Plaza at Avenida Houston on September 19. The evening will feature live music including cumbia and Tejano sets by DJ El Turko Sonidero, followed by a tribute to Selena Quintanilla performed by Tejano Queen Forever.
