US citizen arrested in Jalisco for homicide and drug crimes

Jalisco state authorities arrested a 36-year-old American citizen, identified as Miguel C., in Zapopan, Mexico. The individual, known by the alias “Compa Mike 157” or “Compa Mike 517,” was wanted in San Diego, California, on outstanding arrest warrants issued in June.

The charges against him include homicide, attempted homicide, and federal drug-related offenses. Investigations suggest the suspect has links to organized crime, with conflicting reports regarding his affiliation with either the Sinaloa Cartel or the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). His activities reportedly involve luxury vehicles, weapons, and cross-border narcotics operations.

The arrest was executed through a coordinated operation involving ground and aerial surveillance using drones. Jalisco police utilized intelligence and data analysis from cyber police units in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service. Following his detention, the suspect was transferred to the National Institute of Migration to facilitate his extradition to U.S. authorities.
