US citizen charged for celebratory gunfire in Plav

Police in Plav, Montenegro, have filed criminal charges against a 31-year-old US citizen from New York, identified as A. H., following an incident of celebratory gunfire. The individual is suspected of firing shots into the air at a town square during a wedding celebration on August 9.

Following a court-ordered search of the suspect's house, outbuildings, and vehicles, authorities seized a ‘Blow’ brand gas pistol with 16 rounds of ammunition, as well as 20 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition.

The state prosecutor has ordered criminal charges for the suspected illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosive materials. Additionally, a request has been submitted to the Misdemeanor Court for proceedings regarding violations of the Weapons Act. Police are continuing investigations to identify other individuals who may have participated in the disturbance of public order.
