US CLARITY Act fuels Bitcoin market debate as Strategy sells 32 BTC

The US Senate is again debating the CLARITY Act, a bill that would place a broad range of digital assets under CFTC oversight. Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis warned that delays could push digital‑finance leadership out of the United States, while JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warned that stable‑coin provisions in the draft could create unfair competition for banks. Bitcoin hovered near $61,750, with technical analysis indicating support in the $60,000‑$62,000 band and resistance higher up at $66,000‑$72,000.

Corporate activity added to the discussion. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, disclosed the sale of 32 BTC – a modest amount relative to its holdings but enough to challenge the industry belief that corporate treasuries only buy and never sell Bitcoin. Analysts noted the move could signal a shift in how companies manage crypto assets. At the same time, French‑based Bitcoin treasury firm Capital B announced a shareholder vote on a €5 billion share issuance intended to fund future Bitcoin purchases, while Coinbase invested in a money‑market ETF linked to stable‑coin reserves. Together, these developments highlight growing regulatory scrutiny and evolving corporate strategies within the crypto market.
