U.S. Coast Guard completes $132.5 million Pier November rebuild
The U.S. Coast Guard has completed a $132.5 million rebuild of Pier November at Base Charleston in South Carolina. The project, finished 60 days ahead of schedule, features a new 1,190-foot-long and 80-foot-wide pier capable of accommodating up to five major cutters.
The reconstruction included the demolition of the existing pier, repairs to collapsed bulkheads, dredging, and utility improvements. This infrastructure is intended to support new major cutters currently under construction, enhancing the Coast Guard’s ability to secure maritime approaches and borders.
The project was partially funded by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which provided nearly $25 billion for Coast Guard investments. This rebuild is part of a broader $440 million effort to modernize Base Charleston, which includes a $230 million contract for new operational support facilities such as engineering, multifunctional, and medical buildings.
