U.S. Coast Guard Revives Top 10 Video Competition for 236th Birthday

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is bringing back the Coast Guard Top 10 Videos of the Year competition as part of the service’s 236th birthday celebration. The countdown will run from July 21 through July 31, releasing one video each weekday that showcases missions captured between Coast Guard Day 2025 and 2026, including Antarctic ice‑breaking, drug‑interdiction patrols, heavy‑weather helicopter training, riverine operations on the Rio Grande, and rescues off Cape Hatteras.

The public can view, vote, and share the videos on CGMA’s social‑media channels. The most‑engaged video will be named the People’s Choice winner on August 5, shortly after the birthday. Officials say the initiative highlights the breadth of the Coast Guard’s work and the people behind the missions, while offering the public a clearer understanding of the Service’s capabilities worldwide.
