US communities hold ceremonies to honor 9/11 victims
Communities in the United States held ceremonies to honor the victims and first responders of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
In Princeton, two high school students led an effort to plant 2,977 American flags in Heritage Park, with each flag representing a life lost during the tragedy.
In University Heights, Mayor Michele Weiss presided over a memorial ceremony at City Hall where the American flag was hoisted to half-mast. The event included a reading of a poem written by resident Chris Tunison in response to the attacks. Local leaders, including Ohio State Representative Eric Synenberg, attended to reflect on the impact of the events that occurred 25 years ago.
