US Congressional delegation visits Dharamsala to meet Dalai Lama

A bipartisan US Congressional delegation, led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast, has arrived in Dharamsala, India, to meet with the Dalai Lama. During his arrival at Kangra airport, Mast reaffirmed Washington’s long-standing support for the Tibetan community and the Dalai Lama, stating, “We stand with you.”

Mast emphasized that visiting Dharamsala in person is essential for members of Congress to gain a deeper understanding of the Tibet issue. The delegation includes representatives from both the Republican and Democratic parties.

The visit to Dharamsala follows high-level meetings in New Delhi, where the delegation met with Indian Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. Those discussions focused on the evolving India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, specifically regarding defense industrial and technological cooperation.
