US corporate insiders report billions in stock sales
Corporate insiders are engaging in significant stock selling, with filings through September 11 showing approximately $1.72 billion in sales compared to $328.7 million in purchases. This ratio represents roughly $5.20 sold for every $1 purchased.
While these trends have raised questions regarding whether wealthy investors are protecting profits amid rising Treasury yields and inflation, the data presents a complex picture. Although sale filings outnumber purchase filings, corporate stock buybacks remain at record levels, and some major investors, such as Berkshire Hathaway, have remained net buyers of equities.
