U.S. corporations prepare for potential Congressional probes

Major American corporations, particularly in the technology sector, are preparing for potential Congressional investigations and subpoenas should Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives in the November elections. Companies that previously strengthened ties with Donald Trump are reportedly increasing donations to Democratic-linked organizations, hiring former Democratic advisors, and establishing internal teams to manage potential legal or investigative scrutiny.

Meta Platforms and Palantir are among the firms whose executives have analyzed the possibility of facing information requests, hearings, or subpoenas. Meta has already begun diversifying its political spending, donating $5 million each to House Majority Forward and Majority Forward, while also providing $5 million each to Republican-aligned groups American Action Network and One Nation.

Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader who could become House Speaker, has indicated a desire to hold corporations accountable, stating that the era of corruption associated with the Trump administration will end.
