U.S. Defense Department Releases Second Batch of Declassified UFO Files

The United States Department of Defense announced a second release of previously classified material on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). The new package adds 116 pages covering 209 sightings of green orbs, discs and fireballs recorded near Sandia Base, New Mexico, between 1948 and 1950, and includes the same Special Weapons Program documents referenced in the May 8 release. Among the seven newly released files are video and audio recordings, a medical interview with Apollo 12 astronauts Charles Conrad, Richard Gordon and Alan Bean describing “flashes of light” they observed while sleeping, and a CIA intelligence report from 1973 describing a bright green aerial object that created concentric circles before vanishing. The Pentagon noted the official portal war.gov/ufo has surpassed one billion visits since the initial disclosure, reflecting unprecedented public interest in the transparency effort.
